Climate Resilience

Our climate is changing from increasing temperatures, shifting precipitation patterns, rising sea levels, and more frequent and severe weather events. Due to this, we are embarking on an unprecedented low carbon transition, with all Australian states and territories now committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and leading businesses increasing their commitment to emissions reduction.

DELIVERING CLIMATE RESILIENCE: BEYOND THE RISK ASSESSMENT

Our webinar, Delivering climate resilience: Beyond the risk assessment explored the critical topic of building climate resilience into our communities and infrastructure. David Symons, WSP’s Future Ready Global Leader and Bernadette Fitgerald, WSP’s Director of Sustainability and Climate Change in Australia, discussed:

  • Integrating climate action into long-term strategic planning.
  • Setting outcome targets for enhancing climate resilience.
  • Bridging climate action with projects and establishing effective delivery governance.
  • Establishing accountability, from regulators to corporate leaders.
  • Enhancing skills and fostering a deeper understanding of long-term resilience strategies.
